The MBU women's basketball team picked up its first American Midwest Conference loss last week. The Lady Spartans earned an AMC win at home over Harris-Stowe State University on Thursday, before losing on the road to the NAIA's #14 McKendree University on Saturday. They are now 10-5 overall, 2-1 in the AMC.The Lady Spartan offense fueled a 112-72 win over HSSU on Thursday. Four scorers were in double-digits for MBU, who shot a team 50.5% from the field.

Andrea Seabaugh, and
Jessica Moore each scored 18 points.
Megan Payton added 17 points, 4 assists, 6 rebounds and 8 steals. With the loss, Harris-Stowe dropped to 1-13 overall, 0-3 in the AMC.
On Saturday, the Lady Spartans traveled to AMC rival and NAIA #14 McKendree University (13-4, 3-1). The MBU offense never found its rhythm, as the Lady Spartans lost 73-54. The Bearcat defense held MBU to a mere 28% from the field. McK also dominated on the glass, out-rebounding MBU 51-36. Johnson led MBU with 19 points and had 4 steals.
The Lady Spartans will face another challenge when they play AMC leader and NAIA #8 Columbia College (16-1, 4-0) in Columbia, Mo. on Thursday.
