The MBU Spartan softball team has received the five seed in the American Midwest Conference Tournament. The Spartans will open play against the four seed Park University at 2 pm on Friday, April 29 at Park.
 
Each round of the tournament will feature a best-of-three series. The MBU/Park series will be played Friday April 29 and Saturday, April 30. The Spartans take an overall record of 33-14 and an AMC mark of 9-7 into the tournament. The Pirates finished 10-6 in the AMC, 25-15 overall. The Pirates swept the Spartans in the regular season double header.
 
The winner of the MBU/Park series will face the winner of number one seed Williams Baptist College and number eight seed Harris-Stowe State University in a series starting May 3.
