HORNETS STING SPARTANS IN AMC SHOWDOWN

St. Louis, Mo. - Harris Stowe overcame a 20 point performance by Missouri Baptist's Andrea Seabaugh in a 64-61 victory over the Spartans on Saturday afternoon.

MBU entered the game looking for its first American Midwest Conference win of the season, but was not able to slip past the Hornets. Seabaugh had another impressive game for the Spartans as she recorded her fifth game with 20 points or more on the season. Her last time to do it was the final game of 2011 in an away contest against Northwestern (Iowa).

Janelle Hensold also played a solid game for Missouri Baptist. The Danville, Ill. native recorded 11 points in the loss. Hensold, along with Seabaugh and Chelsea Prosser (nine points, seven rebounds) led the way for the Spartans in the losing cause.

With the victory, Harris Stowe improved to 2-0 in conference play as the team continued to turn heads in the AMC.

The Spartans will have a small break in play before taking on Stephens College next Thursday at home. Game time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
