Box Score 2 Kissimmee, Fla. - The Missouri Baptist women's softball team moved to 4-0 in Florida, with a 5-4 win over Saint Francis University and a 7-0 win over Spring Arbor.
In game one, the Spartans were impressive on the mound and at the plate. Kellsie Domnitz got the win throwing a complete game, allowing just four runs on seven hits. Leading the way offensively was Jenna Bentlage and Donyelle DeMarse. Bentlage went 2-3 with two RBI and one run scored.
After grabbing a 2-1 lead in the top of the third, St Francis was able to regain the lead, scoring two runs in the bottom half of the inning for the 3-2 advantage. The Spartans were able to tie the game 3-3 in the bottom of the fifth, but the team wasn't done there. DeMarse came up to the plate and broke open the game with a two run homer, giving MBU a 5-3 lead. St. Francis added one run in the bottom of the sixth, but the Spartans held on for the win.
It was all Missouri Baptist in the second game of the day. The team continued its offensive fire power, thanks to Katie Payne who added three hits on the day. Jena Trombley dominated all afternoon, throwing a complete game shutout, as Missouri Baptist cruised to victory.
The teams' record moves to 8-4 on the year and will look to continue their winning ways against Valley City State University on March 14th at 11:00 a.m. The second game is against Ave Maria University. First pitch is set for 3:00 p.m.
