Box Score 2 Lebanon, Ill. - Behind the pitching of Kellsie Domnitz, the Spartans took care of business with a five inning 8-0 victory over McKendree University in game one. While in game two, Missouri Baptist had timely hitting and pitching, that led to a 3-0 win over the University of Michigan-Dearborn.
Domnitz kept the Bearcats bats quiet all day, throwing five innings allowing two hits and striking out three. The offense got the scoring started in the top of the second inning, grabbing a 3-0 lead. The team continued piling on the runs, adding three in the fourth and two more in the fifth for the eight run win.
Catcher Miranda Romero was a spark in the six spot in the batting order, going 2-2 with two RBI and three runs scored. Corey Pitchford added two RBI, going 1-3 on the day and one run scored. Lindsay Benck, Jenna Bentlage and Ashley Kroener each tallied an RBI as well.
In game two, Jena Trombley continues to be a force on the hill. The freshman now has 15 wins on the year, with an earned run average under 2.00. Jordyn Knobbs hit her first home run on the season, lifting the Spartans to victory.
The teams' record moves to 23-7 on the year and will now host Missouri Valley College on April 2nd. First pitch is set to be thrown at 2:00 p.m.
