ST. LOUIS- Another scoring outburst by the Missouri Baptist women's soccer team guided the Spartans to a 7-0 win over Harris-Stowe. MBU improved to 6-5-1 overall and 4-1-1 in AMC play.

As the two teams entered 16 minutes of play, Anna Recer scored her fourth goal of the season. Carly Hempel earned her first assist of the year.

Just six minutes later, Clinton netted her second goal of the game. Nevels picked up her second assist of the game and Taylor Fath recorded an assist on the play as well.

The Spartans had a 4-0 lead at the break and outshot the Hornets 22-0 in the frame.

In the second half, the Spartans scored three more goals.

Carly Hempel scored her second goal of the season in the 64th minute to put Missouri Baptist up 5-0.

Kristen Neal blasted a goal in the 80th minute to put the Spartans on top 6-0. It was her second goal of the season.

The final MBU goal came with less than eight minutes left, off the foot of Julie Webb. It was Webb's first goal of the season. Hempel had the assist on the play.

Missouri Baptist's 26 shots on goal are the second-highest in the AMC this season. Columbia had 29 shots on goal against Benedictine-Springfield earlier this season.

The Spartans will take on Hannibal-LaGrange on the road on Saturday at 1:30. The Spartans will attempt to give HLG its first AMC loss of the season.
