Box Score 2 ST. LOUIS – The Missouri Baptist softball bats were alive and strong Monday afternoon at MBU. The Spartans won game one 7-0 over the Stephens College Stars and MBU won the second game of the day 15-1 over the Harris-Stowe Hornets.
The first game of the day was all MBU from the start. The Spartans jumped out strong behind a leadoff hit by Megan Wildhaber who later came around to score the first run of game. MBU didn't slow there as first baseman Jenna Bentlage hit two-run home run to give the Spartans a 3-0 lead.
The Spartans poured on two more runs in the bottom of the second on a home run by Wildhaber. MBU added one more run in the third and one more in the fifth to win the game 7-0.
Offense was the same story of the day in game two against the Hornets. MBU had six players with two RBI in the game. The Spartans cruised out to a 4-0 lead before giving up a home run in the bottom of the second inning. That would prove to be in the only run the Hornets would score on the Spartans.
