ST. LOUIS—Women's lacrosse traveled to Georgia for a weekend of competition, making their first stop at Brenau University on Friday. The Spartans cruised to their first win of 2019, defeating the Golden Tigers by ten goals (15-5).
The match proved to be an all-around team effort as seven Spartans put at least one goal past Brenau's keeper. Midfielder
Jordan Haeusser led the way, scoring a total of five.
Maggie McDaniel followed just behind the freshman with four, while
Sameera Hammad managed two goals.
Melina Custer,
Meredith Linn,
Madison Turnbeaugh, and
Mayzie Thompson rounded out the Spartan scoring, each putting in one.

Lindsay Carlile commended the squad for their notable display of teamwork, "Selfless play is what really helped us in transition and on the attack end of the field."
The Spartans return to action on Saturday, March 9. They will go head to head with the (7) Eagles of Reinhardt University (Ga.) at 11 a.m.
