ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Adam Vincent and
Megan McCrary have earned American Midwest Conference Field Athlete of the Week awards for their performances at the Illinois College Hilltop Invitational on Friday.
Senior
Megan McCrary competed in five pentathlon events placing third in the long jump and the 55m hurdles, seventh in the high jump, 10
th in the 800m, and 14
th in the shot put. Additionally, she set personal records in the 800m (2:37.49) and in the 55m hurdles (8.61).
The St. Peters, Missouri native now sits 10
th in the nation with 3,129 pentathlon points. McCrary needs to be in the top-16 to qualify for the pentathlon at the NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships.
Adam Vincent won the award on the men's side, defeating seven other participants in the pole vault event. The junior from Poplar Bluff, Missouri fell just short of his personal record for the event with a 4.65m effort. This is the third time the former AMC First Team member has earned a weekly award.
The Indoor Track & Field season wraps up in a couple of weeks for those who qualified for the NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships in Brookings, South Dakota.
