ST. LOUIS, MO. – Kaitlyn Chadwick was named the AMC Softball Player of the Week on Monday after a stellar performance in Tuesday's doubleheader against Evangel University. This is the first time the 2020 AMC Academic All-Conference recipient has won a weekly award.
 
Chadwick, a junior from St. Peters, Missouri, has been on a tear this season. Through her first five games, she is hitting .556 with 10 hits, two extra-base hits, and five RBIs. On Tuesday against Evangel, the Spartan catcher posted five hits in eight at-bats with two doubles and three RBIs.
 
In the first game, Chadwick went 2-4 with a run scored and a double. The second game was the stronger of the two collecting three hits in four tries with another double while driving in three of the five Spartan runs.
 
The Spartan softball program continues its season on Monday on the road against Freed-Hardeman University. The first pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m.
