HAEUSSER NAMED KCAC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

WICHITA, Kan. – Missouri Baptist University junior Jordan Haeusser has been selected as Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) Defensive Player of the Week following her performance against William Penn University, the conference office announced Tuesday. She joins Clare Ryan of No. 4-ranked Benedictine (Kan.) as this week's KCAC Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week.

In addition to a team-best 5 goals at William Penn, which also put Haeusser in the conversation for Offensive POW honors, the junior midfielder made play-after-play on defense as well. She finished the 16-10 win with 7 ground balls, 7 draw controls and 2 caused turnovers. The KCAC Preseason Team selection was a staple defensively for MoBap, which held the Statesmen to just 3 second-half goals and scoreless for a 20-minute stretch to begin the second half.

This is her first career KCAC Defensive Player of the Week award, but second weekly designation after earning KCAC Offensive Player of the Week on Feb. 24, 2020.

Haeusser is currently tied for 3rd in the KCAC in caused turnovers/game, 4th in ground balls/game, and 5th in draw controls/game.

The reigning Defensive Player of the Week will look to keep the Spartans undefeated in the KCAC as they travel to the University of Saint Mary (0-3, 0-3 KCAC) on Thursday and Missouri Valley College (0-2, 0-2 KCAC) on Saturday.
