ST. LOUIS, Mo. – No. 7 Missouri Baptist University men's volleyball defeated the University of Health Sciences & Pharmacy in three sets in Wednesday night's makeup contest originally scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 18. The Spartans won 25-22, 25-21, 25-18, to extend their winning streak to eight games and to remain unbeaten in the Heart of America Athletic Conference at 7-0.

The Spartans used a 5-0 run fueled by a trio of
Marko Jovanovic service aces in the middle of the first set to pull away from UHSP 12-7. At the end of the set, the Eutectics scored four points in a row with their backs against the wall on set point before
Michael Olson ended the comeback bid 25-22 off an assist from
David Rudic.

MBU hit .394 in the second set, but the resilient UHSP squad played its best set of the night and hung around until late, pulling within a few toward the end. Rudic, in the middle of a 34-assist performance, found
Kyle Radecki and Olson on back-to-back plays to force set point and Jovanovic ended it a few plays later at 25-21.

With a chance to sweep back in front of the home crowd, the Spartans hit .333 in the third set and used a pair of long runs to wrap up the sweep at 25-18.

Olson and Jovanovic combined for 24 kills, Jovanovic had five assists, and
Michael Anderson and
Veljko Culibrk were tough at the net with four blocks each.
