ST. LOUIS – After her performance at the Cheer and Dance Spartan Showcase on Saturday (Feb. 2), junior Spartanline member,
Aubrey Lemmon, is the American Midwest Conference's Performer of the Week, (Week 2).
Lemmon is front and center in the Spartanline's team turn, and she executed it with precision at MBU's first competition of the season.
Also at the showcase, Lemmon successfully pulled off dance moves that she previously could not do before the season. These skills included an aerial, a partner headspring, and a front handspring snap.
MBU Spartanline head coach,
Abby Jeschke, said that the Fontbonne University transfer dove into the team with passion and determination. Lemmon has worked hard to master her skills this season.
She received this accolade not only for her talent, but for her positivity and leadership on and off the dance floor.
Coach Jeschke said, "Besides Aubrey's skill level, I want to point out her positive attitude and work ethic. She is the first to start practicing a correction during notes, cheer up a teammate, or show up to practice early to review choreography. She is an incredible athlete and started off this season strong!"
Lemmon and the rest of MBU Spartanline will perform next on Friday and Saturday (Feb. 7-Feb. 8) at the York University Crown Classic, hosted by York University in Neb.
