Missouri Baptist Outshines Opponents in Duals

Missouri Baptist University's competitive dance team participated in two events hosted by York University and Concordia University on Friday (Feb. 7) and Saturday (Feb. 8), where they earned 11th place among fierce competitors at YU, and they won both duals at CU.

YORK, Neb. – MBU danced through the mistakes, but ultimately lost 1.5 points during their performance at the YU Crown Classic. They ended with a total score of 73.67, putting them in 11th place out of 17.

The Spartanline competed against some of the top scorers across the NAIA as of Feb. 8. A few of these teams included St. Ambrose University, who placed first in the event, Concordia University (third place), and Oklahoma City University (fourth place).

Head Coach Abby Jeschke said, "Scoring is always tough at these competitions, but we had some great accomplishments…next goal is to hit zero deductions at our regional qualifier…"

SEWARD, Neb. – The Spartans found great success at the Concordia University Day of Duals, defeating both Northwestern College and Benedictine College.

Missouri Baptist outscored the Raiders 75.75-72.05, taking them into the second round of duals. In this round, they beat the Ravens 76.05-76.95. Overall, they scored 151.8 points.

Coach Jeschke had this to say about the team's performance at the Day of Duals: "Winning both of our duals was huge, and each competition, we increased our total score."

MBU will compete again on Friday (March 7) in the AMC Regional Qualifier, hosted by Columbia College.
