MARSHALL, Mo. – No. 4 Missouri Baptist University men's volleyball fell in four sets to No. 11 Missouri Valley College on Tuesday night. The Spartans fall to 14-4 overall and 9-2 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference.

MBU won the first set 25-17 before dropping three consecutive sets to end the match in four. Missouri Valley won the next three 25-19, 28-26, 25-21.

Marko Jovanovic and
Michael Olson combined for 11 kills in the first set as the team hit .615 with 18 kills on 26 attacks and two errors.

The Vikings responded in set two with five blocks to hold the Spartans to a .000 attack percentage and rode 11 team kills to a 25-19 win. They then won a tightly contested set three 28-26, responding to an Olson kill to tie the game at 26 with kills from Arthur Martenelli and Samuel Essilfie.

In the fourth and final set, a 5-0 mid-set run from MVC gave them all the momentum they needed to end the set in four games.

David Rudic tallied 44 assists in the match, setting up Olson with 14 kills,
Kyle Radecki with 12, and Jovanovic with 12. On defense,
Michael Anderson tallied four blocks, and
Alex Seyer had 12 digs.
