Missouri Baptist Softball Moves to No. 15 in First NAIA Coaches’ Top 25 Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Missouri Baptist University softball moved up one spot to No. 15 in the NAIA Softball Coaches' Top 25 poll released on Wednesday, March 4.

The Spartans are off to an 11-5 start this season, including seven wins against teams ranked in the top-25.

After opening the season at 2-2 at the NAIA Southern Collegiate Invitational, Ted Leigraf's team took three of four on the road at No. 13 Louisiana State University Alexandria. They followed up the next weekend with a 3-2 performance at the NAIA Softball Invitational, which included a 5-2 win over No. 11 Midland University and a 22-3 win over No. 21 Hope International University.

This week at the Space Coast Games in Melbourne, Fla., the Spartans are currently 3-0 with a 6-2 win over the University of Michigan-Dearborn, a 9-1 run-rule victory over No. 18 St. Thomas University, and an 8-0 shutout over No. 5 Marian University.

MBU continues the Space Coast Games on Thursday, March 5, against Huntington University (Ind.). The first pitch is set for 1:30 p.m. (CST).
