Leigrafs Claim Individual Awards as MBU Softball Lands Seven on All-Heart First Team

Missouri Baptist University highlighted the 2026 Heart of America Athletic Conference postseason awards, headlined by Player of the Year honors for Allison Leigraf and Coach of the Year recognition for Ted Leigraf.

A senior infielder, Allison Leigraf powered one of the nation's most productive offenses, finishing the season with a .344 batting average, 53 hits, and led the league with 14 home runs and 58 RBIs across 52 games. She added a .714 slugging percentage and 48 runs scored, anchoring a Spartan lineup that hit .353 as a team and scored 381 runs.

Ted Leigraf was named Coach of the Year after guiding the Spartans to another dominant campaign in his fourth season. Missouri Baptist not only captured a conference-best 23 wins, but also maintained a top-10 national ranking for much of the season while combining elite offense with a 2.81 team ERA in the circle.

Missouri Baptist placed seven players on the All-Conference First Team, the most of any program in the league.

Makayla Johnson delivered one of the top offensive seasons in the country, batting .472 with 77 hits, 63 runs scored, and an .834 slugging percentage.

Brooklynn Fischer hit .417 with 43 RBI and 19 doubles, while Alexi Sanchez (.382, 43 RBI) and Miranda Ladson (.356, 11 home runs, 42 RBI) added depth to a lineup that featured four hitters above .350.

Jacie Dees earned First Team honors after hitting .355 with 20 doubles and 34 RBI.

In the circle, Kaylie Brake represented Missouri Baptist on the First Team after a standout season that included a 24-4 record and a 2.22 ERA across 167.1 innings. She added 67 strikeouts and four shutouts, serving as the staff ace for a pitching unit that held opponents to a .264 batting average.

The Spartans also saw multiple players earn extra recognition beyond the all-conference awards.

Johnson and Brake were named to the Heart All-Tournament Team, joined by Alohilani Bursey, who also earned a spot on the conference's Golden Glove Team in right field after posting a .988 fielding percentage.
