The MBU men's volleyball team picked up four wins at the Quincy Tournament last weekend to improve to 13-9 on the season. The Spartans have now won six in a row.

The Spartans opened tournament play on Friday,  cruising past Fontonne University in three games (30-17, 30-18, 30-10). MBU picked up another three-game win over Pfeiffer University in the night cap (30-22, 30-25, 30-19).

On Saturday, the Spartans faced MAMVIC foe Park University in non-conference play. In their third meeting of the season, MBU finally bested the Pirates (30-26, 30-23, 33-30). MBU closed out tournament play with a four-game win over host Quincy University (27-30, 30-21, 30-20, 30-19). 

For the weekend, Matt Mahoney led the Spartans with 57 kills, followed by Jonathan Rodan with 51 kills. Josh Haegele dished out 136 assists, and Drew Piedmont recorded 38 digs.

The Spartans will travel to Dubuque, Iowa March 26-27 to compete in a tournament at Clarke College.
