The MBU men's volleyball team won a hard fought match over St. Ambrose University in the Semifinal Match of the 2010 NAIA National Invitational Tournament on Friday night to advance to Saturday's Championship Match. In Pool play, Missouri Baptist split its match, losing to California Baptist in three games on Thursday, and beating Clarke College in three games early on Friday. Finishing second in Pool A, the Spartans faced Pool B champion St. Ambrose in Friday evening's Semifinal Round.
The Spartans won the first game of the match (30-28), but the Fighting Bees fought back to take the next two games. SAU then had the opportunity to take match point more than once over the next two games (30-27, 30-28), but MBU won the battle, taking game four 31-29 and game five 20-18.
