No. 3 seeded Park University ended No. 6 seeded Missouri Baptist's season on Friday afternoon with a four set victory in day one of the MAMVIC West Conference Tournament, (28-26, 25-17, 21-25, 25-21).

In game one, Park trailed, 24-22 and looked like they were about to go down in the first set but fought back to win, 28-26.Â
Zach Penolio had a match high 18 kills, while Erick Albuquerque added 12 and Luis Zepeda had 11 kills.
The Pirates posted a .438 hitting percentage and setter Rob Cordero had a terrific match with 48 assists and six kills on six attempts.Â
For the Spartans, Jonathan Roldan led the way with 16 kills and reigning NAIA Player of the Week, Dave Stewart had nine kills on 24 total attempts.
Setter Jedson Barbosa added 46 assists and had a service ace and Zach Zeris had 13 kills on 19 attempts.
MBU concluded the 2011 season with a record of 7-19. Earning Second-Team All-Conference honors for the Spartans was
Jonathan Roldan, while
Andrew Greaves earned an Honorable Mention nod. Three Spartans were Academic All-Conference;
Josh Hicks,
Jedson Barbosa and
Daumier Magewski.
