Parkville, Mo. - The Missouri Baptist men's volleyball team were unable to halt their three game losing streak, as the Spartans fell to Park University in three sets, 0-3.
It was an impressive start to the first set, as both teams were looking to take the early advantage. The Pirates however, won the first set 23-25, looking to protect their home floor. The second set didn't go so well for the Spartans, as Park dominated the entire way, for the 11-25 win, taking a 0-2 game advantage.
The third set was the most exciting one of the evening, with Missouri Baptist not going away quietly. Each team went back and forth, until the Pirates were able to finish off the Spartans for the 28-30, set and match win.
Jonathan Roldan led the Spartans with 11 kills, adding five digs and a hitting percentage of .429. Gustavo Cintron added nine kills and eight digs. Robert Esser chipped in 25 assists and Travis Collard led MBU with 14 digs.
The teams' final season record moves to 14-12 and are in fourth place with a record of 6-4 in the MAMVIC West Conference. The Spartans will be back in action on March 30th in the MAMVIC West tournament at Missouri Baptist.
