ST. LOUIS – The men's volleyball team kept their winning streak alive tonight winning in three sets against the Fontbonne University Griffins (25-15, 25-19, 25-13). It was the Spartans best defensive game of the year holding Fontbonne to a .015 hitting percentage. MBU also had a great offensive night hitting .242.

In the first set, sophomore middle blocker Davardo Rolle got things going with a kill to give the Spartans a 1-0 lead. MBU did not trail the entire set and went on to win 25-15. Junior middle blocker, Jordan Pinto, also did well out of the middle with 3 kills on 3 attempts.
The second set was Fontbonne's closest chance to catch the Spartans, but it did not happen. Freshman setter Andrew Douglas came off the bench and handed out 14 assists to help MBU win the set 25-19. The third set was the best set of the night for the Spartans. The team came together to hold the Griffins to a -.227 hitting percentage for the set and win 25-13.
With the win, the Spartans move to 4-1 on the year and 2-0 in the MAMVIC West conference. MBU will play at home in a tri-match next Saturday, February 16th against conference foe Grand View University and Cardinal Stritch University. First serve is scheduled for noon.Â
