ST. LOUIS – [BOX SCORE] Missouri Baptist women's basketball expanded on an 18-point halftime lead to grab its third win of the season in an 89-58 blowout over St. Louis College of Pharmacy.
Missouri Baptist (3-8, 3-4 AMC) took advantage of 21 Eutectics' turnovers on the night and shot over 50 percent in the ball game to collect its third win in the American Midwest Conference.
The Spartans led from the outset and ensured the game was never close, though they struggled to put points on the board in the first half. MBU shot just 38 percent in the opening frame, but returned to the court after halftime like a different team and shot just under 69 percent in the final 20 minutes.
MBU had five finish in double digits, all led by Taylor Klingelhoefer. The junior recorded 18 points and was, once again, perfect from the free throw line (4-4). Spencer Randolph and Mattie White both recorded career nights as well. White finished with 13 points, besting her career total from Saturday of 11, as Randolph had 12.
Morgan Settle also had a career night on the defensive side of the ball. The Moorsville, Ind., native tied a career-high with four blocks on the night to go along with 14 points and eight rebounds.
Jerica Hawkins provided the most balanced effort of the night. The junior notched a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds and was named the Hampton Inn and Suites Star of the Game.
Lauren Albertina led the Eutectics on the night off the bench. The sophomore guard from finished with 20 points to lead all players. The Collinsville, Ill., native went 4-6 from three-point range in the effort.
The Spartans will now head out for a brief two-game road trip through the state of Missouri to play Park University and Columbia College on Thursday and Saturday respectively.
