ST. LOUIS – [BOX SCORE] Aimee Iverson came two points shy of a career-high while Taylor Klingelhoefer posted 20 on the night and the duo led the Spartans to a 79-47 win over St. Louis College of Pharmacy on Tuesday.
Missouri Baptist (7-17, 7-13 AMC) trailed by as many as four, just five minutes in, but took the lead with 13:50 remaining in the first half and never looked back. The Spartans led by as many at 37 in the lopsided victory.
MBU led by 18 points heading into the half and forced 13 turnovers in the opening 20 minutes. On the whole, the Spartans committed just nine turnovers on the night and recorded 16 steals in the contest.
Taylor Klingelhoefer led all scorers with 20 points. It was her highest point total on the season since netting 22 against Harris-Stowe on January 3. Danna Jenkins also put-up an impressive number, though she was held off the scoresheet. Jenkins, the sophomore from Aurora, Colo., recorded a career-high five steals on the night.
Aimee Iverson rounded-out the Spartans in double-digits with 15 points.
Emi Santhuff led the Eutectics with 19 points in the game. It was her highest total since putting 27 on Stephens College on Feb. 7, 2015.
Overall, Missouri Baptist shot 47 percent on the night and recorded 15 offensive boards. Those 15 were the most the team has had since it played the Eutectics back on Jan. 6. In that game, the Spartans posted 23 offensive rebounds, a season high.
Missouri Baptist will now enjoy a two-game home stand against both Park (Mo.) and Columbia (Mo.) on Thursday and Saturday.
