ST. LOUIS [BOX SCORE] – The Missouri Baptist men's volleyball team defeated Missouri Valley (Mo.) 3-0 (25-19, 25-23, 29-27) on Tuesday. 

Set one was a fight for control of the match with 15 ties in the set. The Spartans (21-0, 3-0), however, came out on top as the team held the Vikings to a negative hitting percentage.

MBU transferred its momentum from the first set win into set two as the team led for the entire set and recorded its highest hitting percentage of 0.333.

MVC battle through set three as the team worked to stay alive. The teams recorded 18 total ties in the set as Missouri Valley pushed Missouri Baptist past the normal 25 points in a set.

Mico Janicijevic led the Spartan offense with 12 kills on the night. Chris Flood followed right behind with 11 kills of his own.

Kyle Foley fed the offense with a total of 37 assists for an average of 11.67.

The Spartans will return home to face Ottawa (Kan.) on Friday, March 4.
