ST. LOUIS [BOX SCORE] – The Missouri Baptist men's volleyball team defeated Lindenwood University – Belleville 3-1 (23-25, 25-17, 25-18, 25-17) on Tuesday.
Missouri Baptist struggled in set one as the Lynx capitalized on the Spartans errors to take the set 25-23.
MBU began to come back to life in set two as the Spartans recorded their second highest hitting percentage of 0.615 and recorded no hitting errors in the set.
Missouri Baptist continued to press as the team held LUB to a negative hitting percentage in the third set to gain a one set advantage over the Lynx.
The Spartans held control of the fourth set at the team recorded its highest hitting percentage of 0.654 as well as its highest total of kills with 17.
Mico Janicijevic led the offense with 13 total kills, five service aces and nine digs. Chris Flood followed Janicijevic with eight kills of his own.
Robert Hall came one digs short of matching his career-high with 14 total digs on the night.
Kyle Foley fed the offense with 33 total assists for an average of 8.25 assists per set. Foley also recorded five service aces in the match.
The Spartans have only two matches remaining in the regular season. The team will travel to Quincy University (Ill.) on Wednesday, March 23 and will host Park University (Mo.) on Wednesday, March 30.
