ST. LOUIS [BOX SCORE] – The Missouri Baptist men's volleyball team was dealt its first loss (3-1: 17-25, 23-25, 25-19, 18-25) of the 2016 season by Quincy University (Ill.) on Wednesday at the Pepsi Arena.
The Spartans (25-1, 5-0) had a rough start in set one as the team recorded its lowest hitting percentage (0.150) and lowest total of kills (7).
MBU began to rebound in set two, but fell just two points short of capturing the set as the Hawks recorded their highest hitting percentage (0.409).
Missouri Baptist struck back in set three as the team recorded its first set win of the night.
The Spartans could not carry the momentum over to the fourth set as Quincy closed the match out with a 25-18 set win. MBU recorded its second lowest hitting percentage of the match (0.270).
Mico Janicijevic led the offense with 19 total kills. Grant Carder followed Janicijevic with 12 kills of his own.
Kyle Foley recorded 41 total assists in the set for an average of 10.25 assists per set.
The Spartans have one remaining match in the regular season against Park University (Mo.) on Wednesday, March 30. The match will be held on MBU's home court as the team will honor its two seniors in the final home game of the regular season.
