ST. LOUIS [BOX SCORE] – The Missouri Baptist men's volleyball team defeated Culver-Stockton (Mo.) 3-0 (25-21, 25-16, 25-15) on Monday.
The Spartans (23-0) and the Wildcats battled through set one as the teams recorded eight total ties in the set. The highest total ties in a set for this match. MBU, however, came out with the first set victory.
MBU settled into a rhythm in set two as the team recorded 16 kills in the set compared to Culver-Stockton's eight.
CSC continued to push Missouri Baptist, but the Spartans held the momentum and took set three with their highest hitting percentage of 0.684 and held the Wildcats to their lowest at 0.158.
Chris Flood led the Spartan offense with 12 kills in the match. Mico Janicijevic and Race Mungerfollowed right behind with 10 and nine kills respectively.
Kyle Foley fed the offense with 36 total assists on the night for an average of 12 assists per set.
The Spartans will now travel to face conference opponent Lindenwood University – Belleville (Ill.) for the first time this season on Wednesday, March 9.
