ST. LOUIS [BOX SCORE] – The Missouri Baptist men's volleyball team defeated Mideast Conference opponent Lindenwood – Belleville (Ill.) 3-0 (25-13, 25-19, 25-20) on Wednesday.
The Spartans (24-0, 4-0) started the match strong as the team recorded its highest hitting percentage of the match at 0.533 and held the Lynx to a negative hitting percentage.
LUB began to fight back in the second set as the teams recorded the highest total of ties in the match at eight. MBU, however, held strong as the team recorded 13 kills compared to the Lynx seven.
Missouri Baptist maintained the momentum from sets one and two in set three to close out the match 3-0. The Spartans recorded their highest total of kills in the match at 17 as the team held the Lynx to seven kills for the second time in the match.
Mico Janicijevic led the offense with 13 kills. Grant Canrder followed Janicijevic with eight kills of his own.
Kyle Foley fed the offense with 34 total assists on the night for an average of 11.33 assists per set.
The Spartans will have some time off until they take on Lindenwood – Belleville for the second time this season on the Spartans home court, Tuesday, March 22.
