ST. LOUIS -- [BOX SCORE] Missouri Baptist used a lift from its bench to defeat crosstown rival Lindenwood-Belleville Tuesday night.  11 different players saw action in the team's 3-0 sweep of the Lynx.

Ivan Trifunovic led the way for MBU (7-2, 2-1) in set one. The sophomore from Serbia had a team-high five kills in the set to help the Spartans pull away. MBU led by as many as nine and won it 25-19. Freshman Jason Harman entered the game midway through and finished with six assists.

The Lynx (1-6, 0-2) hung tough in set two, but were eventually outlasted again 25-19. Trifunovic had four kills in the set and several members of the Spartan bench got into the action as well. Christian Barnes had two of his five kills during the second set and Will Merzweiler added one as well. Kyle Foley distributed 12 assists in set two and MBU hit .281.

A lineup full of reserves withstood a late deficit to come-from-behind and earn the 3-0 sweep. Senior Daniel Prada recorded six of his team-high 10 kills in the deciding set. With Harman running the offense at setter, MBU hit a set-best .412. Freshman Luka Cajic entered the game for the first time and had five kills on eight total attacks.

The 25-20 win was far from easy. The team's traded points throughout and Belleville eventually took a 19-18 lead. From there, the Spartans outscored the opposing team 7-1 to earn the victory. Prada started the rally with a kill and had four in total after that point.

Prada finished with 10 kills on 31 attacks. Trifunovic had nine kills and Cameron Hibbler posted seven on 11 swings. Drew Iliff (six), Barnes (five) and Cajic (five) also had big nights. Harman added 21 assists on the night and Foley finished with 19. Robert Hall totaled eight digs and Colton Inman added four, all in the third set.

The Spartans return to action on Thursday against Lindenwood University. The match will begin at 8:00 pm.
