ST. LOUIS – [BOX SCORE] Missouri Baptist hit the road Tuesday night and completed its second straight sweep. This time, the Spartans defeated conference foe Lindenwood-Belleville (25-12, 26-24, 25-15).

Freshman Luka Cajic was the main weapon for Missouri Baptist. Cajic posted 15 kills on 27 total attacks in a night where Spartan kill leader Mico Janicijevic did not play. The Spartans improved to 16-2 overall and 7-1 in the conference with the win. The Lynx (3-11, 0-5) have now dropped five of six matches.

Cajic posted five kills early in set one and MBU jumped out to a 14-5 lead. The Serbian had seven in total in the set, one that was never close. MBU hit .269, while Lindenwood-Belleville had just one kill on 19 total attacks.

Set two was a completely different story. The Spartans hit a set low .179 and couldn't break away from the home team. Neither team led by more than four points in the set. Belleville led 22-20, but a kill from Cajic followed to start the MBU comeback. With the match tied at 24, Ivan Trifunovic came through with a huge kill and a set error on the next point gave the Spartans the 26-24 win.

It was back to business for the No. 2 Spartans in the final set. Midway through, a 16-10 advantage turned into a 23-11 lead with Cajic at the service line. The Spartans hit a ridiculous .522 as a unit in set three. Cam Hibbler ended the match with a kill after giving MBU point 25.

Kyle Foley registered 40 assists, along with three aces and four digs. Hibbler and Trifunovic each had six kills. The Spartans busy week continues on Thursday when they come back home to face Morningside. The match is set for 6:00 pm.
