ST. LOUIS – No. 7 Missouri Baptist University men's volleyball picked up two more Heart of America Athletic Conference weekly awards on Monday after an impressive weekend in Iowa.
Michael Olson won Attacker of the Week and
David Rudic won Setter of the Week after leading the seventh-ranked Spartans to wins over Dordt University and (RV) Morningside University.
Olson hit .450 on the week with 31 kills in the wins. In the sweep of Dordt, the graduate student from Wildwood, Mo., sent down 17 kills on 25 attacks with one error for a .640 hitting percentage. He added 14 more against (RV) Morningside and added four service aces.
Rudic claimed his second Setter of the Week award of the year averaging 12.71 assists per set. He posted more than 40 assists in back-to-back games including 46 against the Defenders on Friday night and 43 on Sunday against the Mustangs.
The season continues for the Spartans on Tuesday, Feb. 25, at 6 p.m., in a road match against Culver-Stockton College.
