Buchmeier, was a standout baseball player for Missouri Baptist from 1997-2000. In his time at MBU, he was a three-time All-Conference selection, was named to the All-Region team and was an NAIA All-American in 1998.

Over his three years as a Spartan, he has a collegiate batting average of .358, to go along with a slugging percentage of .652. Brian amassed 29 home runs in those three seasons, while holding a fielding percentage of .961.

He put together a hitting streak of 15 games from March 16th, 1998- April 4, 1998 and is one of only three players to score five runs in one game (vs. SIUE, March 26, 1998). In 2000, he recorded 26 doubles for the season, ranking him second all-time at Missouri Baptist. After graduation, Buchmeier played professionally for the Springfield Capitals of the Frontier League in 2001. Currently, Buchmeier is a financial consultant and Certified Financial Planner.
