Lloyd Brown played a vital part in founding the Missouri Baptist men's and women's tennis teams in 2005. Brown served as head coach for both programs until 2009 when he became the Director of Tennis Operations.

Prior to joining MBU, Coach Brown served as head tennis coach at Jefferson College for 22 years. Brown's teams averaged over 20 wins per season during his tenure and he left with a 449-97 overall record. He coached 13 All-Americans, 9 academic All-Americans and was later inducted into the St. Louis Tennis Hall of Fame.

Brown was an excellent junior tennis player himself, having played #1 singles and doubles at Truman State University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Education. He later became a teaching pro, working for legends Earl "Butch" Buchholz Sr. and Bill Price, who once tabbed Brown as the best teaching pro he knew.

Coach Brown and his wife Ruthie have three children and seven grandchildren.
