Bayer, who was a standout on and off the diamond, joined Nancy Albers (1986) as the second softball student-athlete to be enshrined in the MBU Athletics Hall of Fame. An infielder for the Spartans, Danielle finished her career 4th all time in RBIs, 5th in hits and doubles, 7th in runs scored and 9th in batting average. She was an AMC All-Conference selection, a four-time AMC Academic All-Conference selection and two-time Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete.
 
Most significant, was Bayer became the first student in MBU history to be named to the Capital One Academic All-America Team (now known as the Google Cloud Academic All-America program) selected by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Bayer graduated summa cum laude in 2013 with a 3.91 cumulative GPA as an Exercise Science major.
 
Following her time at MBU, Bayer attended and graduated from the Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes Jewish College and currently works as a Pediatric Nurse at St. Louis Children's Hospital. From 2012-15, Bayer coached the St. Louis Diamond Cats travel team helping 20+ student-athletes to go on to play softball collegiately. Danielle is an active member at Servant United Church in Sappington, Mo.
