Veteran Head Baseball Coach & Associate AD Eddie Uschold has been a mainstay on the MBU Athletics staff the past 20 years and has developed quite the coaching resume. He has put Missouri Baptist on the map as a top program in the NAIA, and as of 2019, ranks 14th on the NAIA's wins list for active head coaches at 786-380 (.674). In 20 seasons with Uschold at the helm, the Spartans have won 12 regular-season American Midwest Conference (AMC) titles and have made 16 appearances to the NAIA Baseball World Series Opening Round. In 2013 and 2017, the Spartans won their Opening Round bracket and advanced to the NAIA Baseball World Series in Lewiston, Idaho.

Uschold is a 10-time AMC Coach of the Year, three-time Regional Coach of the Year and three-time nominee for NAIA National Coach of the Year. Under his tutelage, 30 student-athletes have been named NAIA All-Americans, 89 have been selected to the All-AMC First Team and 46 have gone on to sign professional contracts. In 2018, Josh Fuentes, a former player of Uschold, made his Major League Baseball (MLB) debut becoming the first Spartan to make a big-league appearance.

In addition to his responsibilities within Athletics, the veteran head coach is also an instructor in the Health and Sport Sciences Division. His teams are just as productive off the field annually performing NAIA Champions of Character and community service projects. Eddie is actively involved at his church – The Crossing – with his wife, Ann, and their four children.
